New drive-through testing clinic for COVID-19 opens in Côte-St-Luc

(Susan Schwartz/ Montreal Gazette) — A drive-through screening clinic for COVID-19 has opened in the parking lot of the Quartier Cavendish, formerly the Cavendish Mall, on Cavendish Blvd.in Côte-St-Luc. Hours for the clinic, operated by the health authority for Montreal’s west end, are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 1-877-644-4545. For now, an appointment is needed, although this might change.

To be eligible for testing, a person must have travelled during the last 14 days or come into contact with a person who travelled during the last 14 days and is sick or has such symptoms as fever, sore throat or cough. A positive result makes self-isolation mandatory.

With the testing, “we will get additional information about whether any of these individuals were at risk because they travelled or were in contact with anyone who was symptomatic,” said Dr. Lawrence Rosenberg, president and CEO of the CIUSSS West-Central Montreal, although he said in an interview Sunday that “we are getting out of the phase ‘Did you get this from travelling?’ Travel may be at this point somewhat irrelevant.” (…)
